Hi Everybody
Hope your term is going well. Here is this week's update on 'What's Hot'
PPA Executive meeting, 9th and 10th February.
The PPA Executive met in Sydney last week and had a productive meeting throughout the two days with plenty of positive planning for the year ahead. The meeting included a meeting with the Minister where the main topics on the agenda included
Expression of Interest – Executive Officer, NSW Primary Principals’ Association
A casual vacancy exists for the Appointed Officer position of Executive Officer for the NSW Primary Principals’ Association. The vacancy exists from now until Term 4 State Council meeting in this year, 2006. Any interested Principal or Retired Principal is encouraged to apply. Please click here for further information
Support Classes IM, and Class Size Reduction
So that we are in the most informed position possible, the PPA is always keen to hear of any issues which may have arisen in relation to either of the above matters and which haven’t been able to be negotiated by reasonable professional dialogue at a local level.
If you would like to let us know of a matter, please click here to use the feedback form.
Executive Liaison
At our meeting last week, we finalised our role statements for the year and made sure that each Region has an Executive member who can act as their liaison person. For details of Executive and Regional liaison, please click here.
Information from the NSW Institute of Teachers - NEW SCHEME TEACHER EVIDENCE
While the Institute appreciates the hardwork and effort that new scheme teachers
and their supervisors and principals have undertaken to gather evidence for the
Accreditation Report, it is not necessary to include excessive documentation.
Principals are reminded that the evidence collected by new scheme teachers
should fit into an A4 plastic sleeve. Beginning teachers should only include
documents they have developed as part of their teaching workload. One document
may meet a number of elements and standards. It is not necessary for the new
scheme teacher to collect evidence for all the standards.
The term "portfolio" should NOT be used to describe the collection of evidence.
Have a great week !
