Each year the NSWPPA makes an award to a Primary Principal in recognition of their contribution to public education in NSW. The NSWPPA Professional Award is awarded in to a principal who has made a significant contribution to primary education at the School, Area or State level through; service to NSWPPA; initiating significant educational change; undertaking widespread support and welfare of colleagues; enhancing the professional standing of primary principals; fostering the professional development of primary principals.
